What is it about rain puddles,
that make one want to splash?
That turns us into children,
in a quick and happy flash?

Is it the child-like joy of impulse
that brings back memories?
Is it the magic of the rainstorm,
swirling within the misty breeze?

I've seen serious men with laptops,
all dressed up in grey suits,
Splashing through the puddles...
Thank goodness for gumboots!
