My reasons to stay were never right
My reasons to leave did not suffice
To feel the empty gaping hole
Which consumes more now than it did before
To hate and clench and hate and still
To wish again for you to fulfil
What now is gone but stays and stays
O’ linger here ‘til I now heed pain
Fault of mine, no fault of yours
But blame and wish for you to fall
But strong are you to stand and move
To cope and smile and go but sooth
Should I wander lonely as a cloud
Or follow you and stick around
I wonder now am I the cloud?
Too far up and looking down
Not to commit to thee, or he
To be lonely now, sad but free?
