ritty patnaik - after you left

a vintage garden
with plants, flowers and weeds,
in nooks and crannies
the wild flower grows
crocus bursts themselves out
at the touch of rain,
a splurge of yellow,
in the uncared lawn.

an arbour of passion flower,
hangs there, without care
where the parrot, sang merrily,
ignoring the watchful eyes,
of the cat!
disturbing its morning drill.

the beehive only a mockery,
as wild hyacinth grows
in the bird bath.

dear mother it chokes me to see
everything out of place,

wild basil grows on my brothers grave.
