Rites Ghosh - Taming
1 Views • Jun 12, 2014
Description
i've tamed my waters
gargling water, bursting bubbles
that snipped my rest,
put holes inside sleeping pillow
or, pushed naughty stones
or, barbed my mortal backbone.
Ha! ha! ha! this garment
has tamed my warmth within
and the adulterated inkblood
fails the sweep of panting pen-
dusk in my eyes gives
no golden cloud thoughts,
unbecoming dusts emboss
the map of anxiety-
this grey face makes me
the most ancient,
the most saturate,
familiar and obedient.
Ha! ha! ha! the obedient beast
chewing bones of innocuous religion-
the blessed cage, therefore,
no more damp-
frayed cuffs of death
content to take me away.
Ha! ha! ha! i leave no copy of my Man-
this gargling water now
so cool,
no knife of impatience underneath-
only surface shadows enough,
only shadows of meditatative mountain chains
and fine greenery.
Sorry, sorry-
my mountain has lost its fire.
