I remember that you liked the land
After the rains had washed the earth
I remember that you liked the storms
After I feared the frightening thunder
I remember you left me with fragments
After you shattered me in millions
I remember you said it was kinder
After you planned out your logic
I remember you said I loved you
After you decided your own pathway
I remember you always decided
After you left me with nothing

That was nothing to say
That was nothing to do
That was nothing at all

Except in my silence

As the tears fell endlessly
On my summer roses
I simply loved you
As always.
