Rift in BJP-PMK alliance

The PMK's alliance with the BJP appears to be on the rocks in Tamil Nadu. PMK founder Dr Ramadoss is reportedly upset with the BJP over allotting the Salem constituency to the DMDK.

Actor turned politician Vijayakanth's DMDK has been allotted 14 seats by the BJP and has already begun campaigning. The PMK, which has been given 8 seats, is also disappointed with the BJP for allotting most of the seats in the state's northern districts to the DMDK, traditionally its arch rival in Tamil Nadu.
