This match was historic as Richardson became the first West Indies player to remain unbeaten on 99 in an ODI, joining the ranks of Bruce Edgar and Dean Jones. With a strong 105-run partnership alongside Viv Richards, West Indies successfully chased Pakistan’s total of 196/4, winning with five balls to spare.
