Richard Steinmueller - Lost At Sea

Where is the shore-line?
I've been lost at sea for some time now.
And I've seen fish,
I've seen waves.
I’ve seen sun,
And I've seen clouds.
But where is solid ground?
I'm a bit sea-sick now.
I'd like to come home,
To get out of these clothes.
To rid myself of this musky dust,
That's been clouding my train of thought.
On those foggy days I can really lose my head.
On those groggy days my mind can get the best of me.
Will this open water become my tomb?
I have no recollection of walking more
Than these nine-teen feet,
From front to back.
There are no turns between this narrow boat.
A left or right too far seems to send me
On my way to the end.
I get dizzy imitating this same path,
From one moment to the next.
Maybe a light will shine,
A turn for the best - it'd seem so.
But I have yet to see
In these dark nights that bind me.
