Richard Allen Beevor - When Will This Be

Stranded are the Roman armies gathered from the mill,
grinding iron from the shell, the single infant pill,
strange the mist of evil, worlds begin a soft decline,
as angel light appears to remove the ancient line.
Immortal are you happy knights that field a battle play,
several seconds rise above the dragon once to slay,
castles fly toward the sky giving hopeful signs,
take the moat to fill a stream that secret valleys find.
Clear now is the heart that once held all hate,
singing, spinning, living life to each scrap on the plate,
valid suggestions turn the mind into canals of carnal slime,
all with ears can hear every single word rhyme.
Show, reflect, give, neglect, internal, relate, gentle, create.

Twist once more the angle, ride to doom injection,
give the hope to find a harmless piece of genuflection,
come Kings, come Queens, rise heavenly haven shrouds,
list the crimes against all men into flaming clouds,
tender mercy, hateful lust, born to be fulfilled,
a crust has grown and now the man succeeds a home fresh peeled,
God has given, God will take the right to be our Lord,
reigning high upon the world with disciples who were called.
One lonely soldier felt the gallows sensation,
one heart, one mind, a unit of creation,
hold the life and stand for an answer to hostility,
raise the flag and hoist a banner of invincibility.

We are now, we are here, we are not real,
we are firm, we are solid, we are a dream,
we are positive, we are actual, we are illusion,
we are power, we are strength, we are nothing,
nothing to no thing to something to some thing,
to something, to no thing, to nothing, absolute nothing.
