Remembering Umrao Jaan

The famous Lucknow courtesan Umrao Jaan breathed her last in Varanasi. The locals claim she was buried here after her death. Her tragic life which later became part of a famous novel was portrayed on celluloid by none other than famous actress Rekha. Recently people in Varanasi gathered on her grave to pay their respects on her death anniversary.
