Relentless fighting in Sirte

..as the battle to capture Muammar Gaddafi's hometown rages on.
These National Transitional Council (NTC) troops have surrounded Sirte for weeks, using an arsenal of homemade weapons to rain down grad rockets, artillery and tank fire inside.
But the town's last pockets of Gaddafi loyalists have put up fierce resistance, resulting in a long cat and mouse struggle between the two sides.
While NTC fighters were poised to declare victory in Sirte a few days ago, they have since been forced to retreat from some areas following heavy fire.
The chaotic struggle has also been hampered by a lack of co-ordination between the mostly amateur NTC fighters.
Thirteen NTC fighters were killed in Sirte on Tuesday following a mortar attack by Gaddafi loyalists.
