In a gripping showdown within the depths of Malkariss' domain, Matthias clashes with Slagar amidst the chaos of battle, only to see his foe slip away into the light as Matthias stands with his comrades in arms.
Meanwhile, Martin and his newfound allies find themselves imprisoned in Marshank's treacherous Pit, while Rose and her stalwart companion, GRUMM, evade the relentless pursuit of Tramun Clogg's corsairs. As the shadow of impending conflict looms, Badrang and Clogg cross paths, feigning friendship before their true intentions are revealed in a clash of swords.
Amidst the turmoil, whispers of rebellion stir among the enslaved, yet danger lurks in the form of DRUWP, a duplicitous bankvole with treacherous plans. Outside the prison walls, Rose and Grumm hatch a daring scheme to tunnel to the captives' rescue, while Brome reveals the hope of Noonvale, their peaceful homeland, and the potential aid of his father, the village chief.
As Grumm toils tirelessly to complete the tunnel, a fierce battle erupts between Clogg and Badrang, providing a fleeting opportunity for escape. Martin, Brome, and Felldoh seize their chance, fleeing the confines of the Pit, but leaving others behind. The question remains: how will they rescue the remaining captives?
