Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects. It is an alternative to "conventional" waste disposal that can save material and help lower greenhouse gas emissions. Product development from recycled materials is a must to maximize the benefits. This leads to a number of economic opportunities to remanufacture products with the recovered material. Just as market forces cannot be ignored when introducing a new product, they must also be taken into account when introducing remanufactured products. The market analysis for these products may be more difficult than new ones because customers are more concerned with product durability and cost of maintenance.
