Record floods reach Budapest

The river Danube is set to peak in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, where hundreds of thousands of sandbags have been laid to protect the city but some suburbs are already under water. The floods have forced tens of thousands to flee their homes around Central Europe over the past week. The river Elbe in the eastern German city of Magdeburg is also at a record level, higher than had been forecast and thousands of people have been moved to safety after the river flooded and burst through a dam. While the river Elbe threatens Germany, further south, the focus is now on the Danube in Hungary. Al Jazeera's Jonah Hull reports from Budapest.
