I know
There’s something
In this weight in my chest

A brutal beginning of
Understanding the truth

…And I once heard you say
It could work out someday

But, once the storm had gathered, and
The rain began to fall
You couldn’t provide me shelter
Or comfort me at all

...And I know
There’s something
In this rain on my skin

A brutal reminder of
A past filled with sin
