Rare Superman comic nabs $175,000
Description
The comic book, Action Comics No. 1 from June 1938, was the very first appearance of the all-American superhero by writer Jerry Siegel and illustrator Joe Shuster.
It was found hidden in the wall of a Minnesota home by a building contractor.
The identity of the buyer in the online auction, which ended on Tuesday, was not disclosed.
There are only about 100 remaining copies of the 250,000 originals.
