Rape horror continues unabated in India

More shocking rapes reported from across India have put a big question mark on the safety of women in the country. The body of an alleged rape victim was found hanging from a mango tree under Kahalgao police station area of Bhagalpur in Bihar on Sunday. The 40-year-old victim, a native of Jalpaigudi in West Bengal, boarded Brahamaputra Mail for New Delhi but she was allegedly forced to get down from the train by some local criminal elements. In Madhya Pradesh's Dhindori sistrict, a teacher allegedly raped his minor student while on a school trip to Amarkantak. The girl's relatives approached the police on learning about the child's ordeal. And in punjab's Gurdaspur district, police have arrested six of the seven persons, who allegedly gang-raped a 29-year-old woman on Friday night. A local court has remanded them to three days in police custody.
