This our night
everyone's premiere

swirling spotlighthouses
for caravan of ostentatious
limos we're

all so gracious
to have but arrived here

photo ops galore
talent and marketing adores

Production with a nervous grin
I prop my Director up for
glitterati cameras flashin'

we all sway swim within
sporting silicone grins thin

I show up stag
leading lady equally
seated conveniently next to me

she munches her snacks of bounty
concessionary diversions incessantly

Opening credits roll as
inevitability
finality claims it's ticking toll

the crowd roars while
we all surreptitiously
sigh and soar

The red carpet is blotted with blood
our years lives in the making

at times for a moment
we commune sharing
rarest vintage wine gulping
