RAJ NANDY - PASSING TIME

PASSING TIME
I see the beautiful sunrise, and watch the
flowers that bloom;
And have my cup of tea, in my study
room!
I grab my morning papers, to read how
those terrorists had struck!
When an old friend suddenly rings up,
What a stroke of good luck!
He invites me to join up for lunch,
And to view a new play;
‘‘Let’s pass some time together, for old
time’s sake ’’-
Is what he really says!
The day slowly passes, and I see the
setting sun,
I sit down to read, write and watch TV,
Before the day gets done!
But when I go to bed, sleep never easily
comes you see,
And I lie awake in bed, when this thought
occurs to me, -
‘Have I been passing my time, -
Or has time been passing me’? !
