Description
HANDS
My teacher had told me once,
Hands that rocks the cradle,
rules the world!
Now I find after some deliberations,
Hands that grasps the hammer and sickle,
Shapes the backbone of nations!
Hands which plough the fields and harvest
the crops,
Feed the hungry millions and our flocks!
Hands whenever clenched into fists,
Should be in righteous indignation and
for self-defence,
But never for acts of violence!
Hands that extend as a goodwill gesture
and shakes,
Always ends up in making true friends!
When both hands and fingers come
together,
Shaped like the bud of a lotus flower,
They become a symbol of thanks- giving,
the benediction hour!
And finally my friends, let us not forget
those Hands,
Which healed mankind and blessed;
Hands that were once nailed to the cross!
Hands which suffered and bled!
Those Hands of the Redeemer, the Lord!
