STORY: Up-and-coming Indian designer Rahul Mishra captivated audiences at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday (October 1) with his exotic collection designed to mimic the flow of poetry and invoke exotic lands from the past.

Entirely hand-embroidered, his ready to wear spring/summer 2015 collection aimed for elegant simplicity, juxtaposing traditional Japanese artwork and Indian chintz with modern shapes and silhouettes.

He stated that his fundamental design principle was that of collaboration- he aims to involve as many people in the creative process as possible, from design to manufacturing.

The show was entitled 'The Ferryman's Tale', and mixed exotic stories with elements of the past, combining traditional simplicity with exotic flair.

Mishra's collection had input from people across India, who offered creative input in every step of the design process.

Involving many different people also served a greater ethical pu
