Description
I stand on the end of my pride
Because I have no answer
I put my wisdom aside
And leave myself to anger
These are the days of a life
It's hard to tell the friends from the enemies
Just like someone is all in strife
And someone from afar envies
Life as a business states
That people are commodities
Today someone is served on your plate
Tomorrow he is bottled in memories
Life as a medicine puts:
That people are healers
They heal whenever the occasion suits
And don't question the dealer
Life as faith dictates
That people are devils and angels
Half so in love; half so in hate
That's what makes them strangers
Where am I in this question
The answer seems so near yet so far
Every day I place my bets on
The kind of life that makes us who we are
But I find no one to respond
Am I not loud enough or clear enough?
It seems people's pride is a pond
Yet with waves that ripple and roar rough
Waves that are bound to collide
Somewhere making circles and whirls
The circles sleep to the side
The whirls down to the bottom curl
Is the question my question alone
Or are the circles asking each other the same
Do they know there are hearts as hard as stone
Do they know it's useless to blame
Or when the whirls pull you down
And you wake in the sweat of a dream
Do you sense the street in sight and sound
You hear 'I'm proud today' and Satan scream
