Rachel Harris - Night Wanderer
281 Views • Jun 14, 2014
Description
Beneath a clear basin filled with shining white
Watched by the nocturnal lights
I walk someplace found in the night
Warm breath upon my skin
A thousand voices rise to greet me
My tired heart wants to join
As they sing their night songs
Fluttering about the lights
Whirring on the blades of grass
Croaking by the playful water
The children of the night speak
Their voices clash
One against the other
Yet creating harmony
With sounds of dark
My feet tread
Upon fallen souls
Rustling, whispering because
The night breathes
Strongly sage greets my nose
Provoking wild thoughts
I am caught within this dream
A dream of night-wanderers
I become one with the dimness
Sounds, smells, feelings
I have been captured
Walking into the trap of night
