Quicksand are non-Newtonian fluids

Quicksand are non-Newtonian fluids. When they are not disturbed by an external agent, they usually appear as a gelatinous matter, but, at the slightest change in stresses, their viscosity decreases and becomes a "sun." The concentration of salts is what causes this.
