Quick scan could diagnose autism

A team of British scientists say a simple 15-minute brain scan could help doctors diagnose the brain disorder autism more cheaply and accurately.

The test proved 90 per cent accurate in adults and the researchers say there is no reason why it shouldn't work equally well in children.

At best the scientists say the brian scans will not be in general use for at least a couple of years.
