Description
Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral cost approximately £162 million ($201.4 million), according to the Treasury. The U.K.'s longest-serving monarch passed away on September 8, 2022, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, at the age of 96. A 10-day national mourning preceded her funeral at Westminster Abbey on September 18. King Charles III, the Queen's successor, and son, was anointed and crowned on May 6 during a three-day weekend of coronation celebrations, estimated to cost between £50 million ($62 million) and £100 million ($124 million.)
