Description
Rough Cut. (No reporter narration)
A protest movement that started in mid-September in New York against the power and influence of Wall Street staged a large rally on Wednesday near City Hall.
Thousands of people converged on Liberty Plaza in downtown New York to denounce what they say is the undue influence of Wall Street and the financial inequality of the economic system.
SOUNDBITE: Iman Elsayed, registered nurse and protester, saying: (English):
"I am a registered nurse in New York, I've been coming here for the last two weeks, before work, after work, during lunch break, to support "Occupy Wall Street." To stand up against what's going on, bailing out the banks, bailing out Wall Street while working class and middle class Americans in New York suffer and struggle to pay our bills and find employment."
SOUNDBITE: Protester Robin Diangelo, saying: (English):
"Never in the history of our world has this much wealth been concentrated in so few hands and it's just out of control."
The "Occupy Wall Street" movement has been holding daily, mostly small, protests since September 17th, gathering in a small park named Zuccotti Park after they were denied permission to rally at the New York Stock Exchange.
