proa kite sailing without pole

This was one of the first set up on my proa kite sailing; the kite is attached to the main hull with 2 purchases to be able to bring the pull force forward. I found out that it was not enough to bear off, so I later installed a pole, longer than this setup, allowing me to bring the point of pull of the kite even further forward.
This is in 2007-2008 time frame, on Lake Texana, in South Texas, with my friend Kevin; the only guy crazy enough to get on such a boat with me!!!
