This technique would most commonly be seen at the edge, used by the attacker as he digs in. From a deep, standard outside grip, the attacker will bend backwards and swing his opponent around and out in the direction of that outside gripping hand. Osakate is one of the 12 techniques added in the 2001 winning technique list expansion.
