a. When we use something TO DO something, we use the preposition “with”
I paint the wall with a brush.
(I use a brush TO PAINT the wall.)
I write with pencil.
My brother writes with a pen.
b. When we join someone TO DO something, we use the preposition “with”.
Jimmy goes to school with his sister.
The maid goes to the market with my mother every morning.
Father plays golf with his friends every Sunday.

C. We may also use “with” to mean “against”.
I quarreled with my best friend yesterday.
The large rat fought with the small kitten for several minutes.
The boy argued with his teacher.
