Premium Fuel Vs Regular - Differences Explained
The basic difference between regular and premium petrol is that, both have different octane numbers.
Octane number is the ability of a fuel to withstand pre-ignition or knocking in the engine. Knocking is harmful for an engine, as it produces uneven stresses to the pistons.
In diesel engines, we refer to the Cetane rating, which is the ability of diesel engines to ignite much more easily.
