where do you hide
you millions of goosebumps
i know you are there
under my middle aged skin


when the wind blows icy
you rise uninvited
waves of merry you
travel up and down my hands


when i listen to stories fantastic
you peep up again
drenching me
waving flags of hairs


when i see nature in her nudity
your periscopes break the surface
applauding or appreciating
i do not know


when i walk under a drizzle
and when i soak under the sun
you cannot keep quiet
you must rejoice on my brownness


and when my lover's breath
stings my neck
there you scream again
right down my spine


where do you hide
oh you pesky little peeping toms
i couldn't find you
when i'd scraped my skin
