In this video I take a look at a controversial topic: Practical Effects vs Digital effects, specifically in horror movies.

Computers are a tool… just like the camera equipment, the audio equipment and the cast & crew.. They are a piece of the movie puzzle, that have an absolute place in film and when used correctly can increase the quality of a movie and help to create amazing visuals. To say that there shouldn’t be any computer effects in a movie is definitely NOT my position. But when low budget movies rely solely on computers for living creature effects… it creates a film that completely lacks the charm of it’s 80’s counterparts.
