PR disaster derails ICERD
Description
The shortcoming in putting across its message on the ratification of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) and mixed signals from the ruling government on the issue are among the factors that has derailed Malaysia’s efforts to follow other members of the international community in formalising the convention. Several panellists and audiences pointed this out at the "ICERD: Yes or No?" forum held in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 26.
