Many people regard the rating agencies as one of the causes of the euro crisis. American agencies Standard&Poor’s, Fitch, and Moody’s dominate the market.They recently downgraded the creditworthiness ratings of Greece, Portugal, and Ireland dramatically. Now a European rating agency is to be founded to compete with the American companies. Claudia Laszcazk accompanies Markus Krall for a day in Frankfurt am Main.
