Pope Francis back at work

Pope Francis is back at work.

This comes days after he abruptly canceled a scheduled appearance, setting off a flurry of health concerns.

He presided over a two hour Mass in St. Peter's Basilica, where the Church is celebrating the feast of Saints Peter and Paul.

Appearing to be in good spirits -- he presented 24 new archbishops with a band worn around the neck known as a pallium -- a symbol of their unity with he pope.

Following the mass, the pontiff made a noon appearance to scores gathered outside St. Peter's Square.

He called for an end to the conflict in Iraq.

"The news arriving from Iraq is, unfortunately, very painful. I join the bishops of the country in appealing to government leaders so that, through dialogue, the unity of the country can be preserved and war avoided."
