Pom Poms are a new Los Angeles based group founded by vocalist/songwriter Marlene and Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Billy Mohler (Awolnation, Liz Phair, Kelly Clarkson, Macy Gray). The atemporal sound of “Betty,” which evokes a time and place that exists only in our dreams was their genesis. Their desire to put their distinctive spin on the sound of the great singers and writers they love from years gone by, inspired them to create a project that transcends both nostalgia and current tendencies with grand martini-infused arrangements and melodies. Their intoxicating cocktail mixes references like Quentin Tarantino, Ernie Kovacs, Roy Orbison, The Twilight Zone, Wes Anderson, Jean-Luc Godard, Yves Montand, Connie Francis, Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline with their own refreshing perspective.
