PM SAYS PROCESS FOR COMPENSATION IN PARIA MATTER

Opposition Chief Whip David Lee wanted Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley to state if the Government has considered offering compensation either through Paria or other avenues to the affected families of the deceased divers on behalf of the state in light of a recommendation from the Commission of Enquiry into the Paria tragedy.
But questions from Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal led to the Prime Minister declaring that the Government cannot bypass the processes underway given the legal issues involved.
