Pistorius out on bail until murder trial

Sports star Oscar Pistorius is used to making headlines.

But this kind of publicity he may wish to avoid.

On Saturday newspapers splashed the court's decision to grant the double-amputee bail.

The South African is accused of the premeditated murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

But he says he shot his girlfriend after mistaking her for an intruder

The case has aroused huge interest in South Africa, where the athlete was regarded as a national hero.

"Well I think there is always two sides to a story so I think they need to find out more about what actually happened at the scene.. and yeah, give the guy a break, you know. We are all human."

"Always in life there is always options. I think a man can do mistakes."

The paralympic champion has handed over his passport and is staying at his uncle's house in Pretoria.

The next hearing is set for 4th June.
