Le festival Végétarien a lieu tous les ans au mois d'octobre depuis 1825.
Certaines scènes du film ont nécessiter des prouesses pour approcher les «Masong» possédés par les esprits qu’ils incarnent.
Le tournage a duré neuf jours et neuf nuits, le temps du festival.
