Philippines deaths still climbing

They're still finding the bodies nearly two weeks after tropical storm Washi brought deadly chaos to the southern Philippines island of Mindanao.
By the 27th of December the figure was put at 1, 453.
Hundreds are still missing.
Rescue teams have widened their search to a radius of 300 kilometres, after fishermen found some of the casualties drifting near another island to the north.
SOUNDBITE: Unidentified rescue worker saying (Visayan):
"We will continue our retrieval operations until everyone has been accounted for."
More than 300, 000 were forced to flee their homes when Washi sent torrents of water, mud and logs through riverside and coastal villages.
They've taken refuge in emergency shelters.
It's one of the country's worst natural disasters in two decades.
The president has ordered an investigation into why officials allowed the construction of houses in dangerous area and had not stopped illegal logging.
