Petronas Carigali projects probed by MACC, one exec arrested

MACC today confirmed that it is investigating bribery involving projects owned by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, and that one of the suspects they have arrested include an executive of the Petronas subsidiary.

In a statement, the anti-graft agency also clarified that the Petronas Carigali officer they nabbed is not its chief executive officer as claimed by certain quarters.

Investigators have also arrested one more individual to facilitate a probe into the case since Friday (April 8), making the total number of arrests increase from eight to nine.
