Pete Dowe - Night Train

(One night a Train Driver shut the power down
on an empty Train in Broadmeadows,
got out, but forgot to put the parking brake on.

The driver-less train rolled away, gathering speed,
running express Broadmeadows to (Spencer Street)
Southern Cross Station.

runaway
come away
with me

Come
in the night
crash through
crash
and walk away
Night Train

They loaded all
the city’s goods
everything
that was needed
they put it on
the Night Train

We’re getting out
the line of track
glimmers ahead
silver expanse
getting up to speed
Nitrate

Express yourself
ride with me
rapidly
ride me
ride with me
blow my horn
all aboard
the Night Train

Come
come with me
come on board
come out
