Pete Crowther - Thumb-sucking

I read a poem by a girl today
Who asked her reader to convey
Just why he loved her and which feature
Made him aspire to be her creature.
She itemized them one by one —
The obvious ones—but then ‘the thumb’! ! !
I asked her ‘Why the thumb, young duck? ’
‘Because’ she said —
‘It would be good to suck! ’
