Pet cloning services in China

A famous screen pooch named Juice, who has starred in dozens of Chinese film and TV productions, has been duplicated using gene-editing technology. The cloned puppy, “Little Juice”, was created by Sinogene, China’s first biotech company to offer pet cloning services, and born in mid-September 2018.  
China’s biotech industry is growing rapidly. Earlier this year, a lab in Shanghai produced the world’s first cloned monkeys earlier this year. And last month, Chinese scientist He Jiankui claimed he had created the world’s first gene-edited babies, sparking widespread condemnation from around the globe.
