Peru: Human rights groups charge gov't with criminalizing protests

The National Coordinating Committee for Human Rights, comprised of 80 member organizations and with 30 years of experience in the field, reports that during the current presidential administration of Ollanta Humala, 46 activists have been killed in social conflicts, with 1,000 injured and hundreds detained. The human rights group charges that the government is seeking to criminalize social protests. Other problematic points are the rights of home care workers and the LGBT community.
