The only consistent theme across every Shin Megami Tensei game is the ongoing war between Heaven and Hell, with Lucifer and Yehowah taking various roles throughout the series. Lucifer in particular appears in almost every title, often as an old man in a wheelchair or his alter ego Louis Cyphre.
