Pensive Phoenix - No Marks

Still memories do patrol me,
Keep me awake at night.
Lulling in the shadows,
Carting through summersaults,
Catapulting figures masking through the air
Faceless terror crowns me,
Through charred erratic lair.

Holding the body in an ecstasy of fever,
Churn of the unripe butter.
Purging the wine from it’s skin
‘til it shrivels and rips at the seams.

You stole from me my freedom,
My mirth and innocence.
A barrel of momentum
Rests underneath the sheets,
The scars have never healed.
