Penno V Thorns 1st grade highlights

24/5 Pennant Hills vs Thornleigh at Penno Park aka "the cauldron".
After floggings at the hands of Penno last season, Thunder face up against arguably their toughest opponents on penno's turf. Would they suffer another big loss in front of the Penno faithful?
After a scoreless first half, Thornleigh were well in the match after several times Penno failed to finish. However the second half was a another story with Penno awarded an early spot kick for a hand ball (cameraman too far away to ccriticize the call), then finishing twice more in typical Penno clinical fashion. Thunder were awarded a late spot kick to bring the score to 3 - 1. Penno the decidedly stronger team on the day. Note the unusual reffing style however with some strange decisions allowed to play while other innocous challenges drew immediate yellows.
My favourite is the restart at the end with 2

In closing, a better result than last year and something to build on for round 2 at Oakleigh Stadium.
