Penang CM faces defamation suit

The High Court hearing the defamation suit
filed by Penang Umno liaison chairman Zainal Abidin Osman against Chief
Minister Lim Guan Eng was told today that Lim's action in issuing false
statement was meant to tarnish Umno's image.
Zainal Abidin, 52, said that the articles which were published in Keadilan
Daily on July 3 last year and in Suara Keadilan, on July 5 last year, were also
meant to show that Umno was a party with no ethic and principle for supporting
an action which could lead to violence.
